ahh...the comfort of a good cup of coffee

the things we do for our coffee...most of you know, right before coming to taiwan (two weeks ago), i was in nicaragua*, where i purchased some very nice coffee, caffeinated and ground (i usually only drink decaf and i usually only buy beans...snob that i am). all this is significant because for the past two weeks it's been very helpful in my adjustment process to have readily available, caffeinated coffee when i get up in the morning. however, last weekend, i purchased a coffee grinder, and this morning i ground some decaf coffee from the kalapawai market in kailua (if you know me, you know just what i'm sayin' here! if you don't know me, this is my favorite coffee place in hawaii where i used to live.) here i sit in my little room (temporary accommodation provided by the school), sun shining through the window, air con blasting, doing the laundry, and thoroughly enjoying my first cup of ground coffee in taiwan!

*me and my friend, kim, in a coffee shop in jinotega, nicaragua after a long day (can ya tell?)

this is my first blog entry, so i'll keep it short. but i plan on adding to this frequently on the weekends and sporadically through the week. feel free to check back often. have a great saturday morning.

Good to know that you're doing well there, and everything going smooth while enjoying your new accomodations.
I wish you the best from God.
Keep in touch. Blessings,
